4th German Hydrogen Congress 2008 Opens its Doors
The 4th German Hydrogen Congress (www.h2congress.de) will be held in Essen on
February 20 and 21, 2008. It will be held in parallel to the “E-world energy & water” trade
fair to promote the exchange of information between experts for conventional energy
and those for innovative energy systems using hydrogen and fuel cells.
The Congress comprises contributions from expert speakers on the path and role of
hydrogen in the energy economy as well as on the state of development and prospects
for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies from the sectors of energy, engineering, and
industry.
The first day of the meeting especially targets decision makers in politics, industry,
research, and finance. It considers in detail the potential of hydrogen as an energy
carrier with respect to the challenges of a future energy economy. At the same time,
schoolchildren, students and teachers will have the opportunity to get first-hand
information about advanced technologies, qualifications, new professions, and
educational opportunities at a training and information event on hydrogen and fuel cells.
The expert presentations on the second day of the Congress will concern the current
state of research, development, and demonstration in the production, distribution, and
storage of hydrogen and the use of fuel cells in the various application sectors.
The object of this Congress is to identify decisive issues in the hydrogen and fuel cell
field and to give answers based on the state of the art in science and engineering.
This is the fourth time that this Congress has offered a platform for sound information
about a promising new energy economy and the general conditions for its realization.
The 18th World Hydrogen Energy Conference (www.18WHEC2010.de) will also be held
in Essen in 2010 and will continue this year’s discussion of the main topics together with
scientists from all over the world.
