Press Release No. 5/2006

This is a press release adopted from the European Hydrogen Association

European Hydrogen Association presents new Taskforce “Hydrogen in the City” at the General Assembly of the European Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform October 4-6, 2006

The European Hydrogen Association (EHA) has created a new Taskforce “Hydrogen in the City” to provide local authorities with information on readily available hydrogen applications, installation requirements and regulations, codes and standards. In close collaboration with EHA’s industry members and national member associations the Taskforce hopes to respond to the increasing requests of local communities for examples of feasible urban hydrogen projects.

The Taskforce will prepare an information package adapted to local requirements and translated in different languages that will contain examples of successful projects, product information, installation requirements and local regulations. The first information packages will be presented at the European Hydrogen Energy Conference 2007, that will be held in Maastricht from June18 till 22, 2007.

The EHA is present at the General Assembly of the European Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform from October 4-6, 2006 with a stand in the exhibition space at Place Parc du Cinquantenaire (Schuman Entrance) in Brussels. Besides information on the acitivities of the EHA in Brussels, latest developments of EHA industry members and of the national member associations, the stand will also feature specific information of educational activities on hydrogen and fuel cells that have been developed at European universities. Last but not least free copies of the EHA’s Map of European Hydrogen Refuelling Stations 2006 edition will be available.

The EHA brings together as active members seven national associations (Association Française de l'Hydrogène, Associazione Italiana Idrogeno e Celle a Combustibile, Dutch Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association Norwegian Hydrogen Forum, Swedish H2 Forum and Spanish Hydrogen Association) as well as the main hydrogen supply and distribution companies (Air Liquide, Air Products, Linde and BOC (that recently became part of the Linde Group), Norsk Hydro ASA, Acciona Biocombustibles S.A., and Shell Hydrogen).
